What is the difference between CD Duplication and CD Replication?

CD Duplication is the process of burning data onto blank CD-R media. This process is ideal for jobs under 500 because of the lengthy and costly processes involved in CD replication.

CD Replication is utilised for large scale (500 or more) jobs where a glass master is produced from a master CD. Stampers are subsequently created from glass masters and these stampers will then be used to press the discs with injection moulding made of raw polycarbonate plastic.

What is the difference between DVD Duplication and DVD Replication?

The difference between DVD Duplication and DVD Replication is identical to that of CDs (see above question) however, with DVD-R media, a compatibility issue arises.

Older standalone DVD and PC DVD-ROM systems, which were created before 1998, are not designed to play DVD-R discs which are the standard writable DVD discs used in DVD duplication. These discs will simply not be readable when inserted into these older players. Newer DVD players and Mac/PC DVD Drives are fully compatible with DVD-R media and will play DVD duplicated discs flawlessly.

What are the different DVD formats?

4DVD-5
This is the most common DVD format. It's a single layer disc that holds 4.7GB of content. DVD-5's are available in both DVD duplication and replication.
 
4DVD-9
DVD-9's are double layer discs that holds 8.5GB of content. DVD-9's are only available via replication due to the glass mastering involved. A DLT tape is required to produce the glass master.
 
4DVD-10
DVD-10's are double sided disc with a single layer of content on each side. DVD-10s hold 9.4 GB of data. This format is available via duplication but if preferred via replication. A DLT tape is required to produce the glass master for replication.

For Mass Replication only, this disc holds 13.2GB on One Single Layer Side & One Double Layer Side

4DVD 18

For Mass Replication only, this disc holds 17.0 GB on one Double Layer on each side of the disc.

What formats can i submit artwork in?

We will accept artwork in the following formats:

4 Adobe Photoshop Files (.PSD)

4 High Resolution Acrobat Files (.PDF)

4 Adobe Illustrator Files (.AI)

4 TIFF Images (.TIFF)

4 JPEG Images (.JPE or .JPG)

4 GIF Images (.GIF)

All images must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi to be used for printing, or 72dpi for Autorun menus.

Can I get some assistance with my artwork?

My CD is a bunch of files, can you make me a menu to bring it all together?

Yes, We can design for you a CD menu system which will display your documents, presentations, videos etc on one easy to use menu which is fully customisable with your company name, logo, colours and style.

The Autorun program can also contain links to websites, email links, animation and interactivity.

Can you make my CD auto-start?

Yes, If you already have a menu on your CD, we can help you configure it to auto-start when the CD is inserted into a CD-ROM drive.

Can I use shaped CD's in slot-loading CD-ROM drives?

No, Shaped CDs are only designed for standard Tray-loading CD drives and are not suitable for most slot loading CD drives found on Car Stereos or Mac notebook computers.

I am sending my CD out to customers, Can I get packaging with my logo on it?

Yes, both our custom packaging and our CD mailer are customisable with your company logo, to give your project that professional finish.
